LOVE/SICK
Love Sick was San Juan Hills first ever virtual production. It is a collection of 9 scenes that all relate to each other and talk about the good bad and the ugly sides of love. Our hair and makeup concept was modern simplicity and subtlety. We created makeup and hair trends just as we would have in real life and used subtle details to convey character. A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is our first stab at a musical in covid conditions. We were staged outside in our school's amphitheater. Our lighting concept was lots of bold color and modern lighting to help convey both absurdity and character. I've been working in lighting since freshman year but this was my first time designing so I was really excited! (click the picture to find more info)

This was my last design at San Juan Hills where I got to design in the theatre for the first time. Our lighting concept dealt with contrast and jewel tones to bring light to the overall concept of the show comparing hope and the darkness of life. We worked to bring to life the hope inside the cruelty of the world that Quasimodo faces.
