Love/Sick was San Juan Hills' first virtual production during covid. It was a compilation of 9 scenes that all related to each other in the same universe and were about the ups and downs of love and marriage.

My two co designers and I designed hair and makeup for this show. We went with the concept of modern simplicity and subtlety. We created a few trends that may happen in this alternate universe such as half up half down hairstyles and neutral eye makeup. Just like we have trends in the world today, these characters would also follows some of the trends in their universe. The characters also aged with each scene, so after each scene the next characters were older, so we kept adding more and more age lines and subtle makeup changes to convey this.

All of our work was done over zoom, the design process and the show included. We had to drop a few items off at actors houses, where they were streaming from, and all had masks and socially distanced. Those items were returned and sanitized after their use. 

We also had a check process before the shows where sets of actors would come into our breakout room and we would check their hair and makeup before the show.
